Too Far Away

This month has been filled to the brim. Mostly with things good and noteworthy, but with little time to sit and ponder and write about.  Two of our precious grandchildren came for a 2-week visit, and we met their parents halfway yesterday to return them--a 13-hour day trip to meet up and transfer children and belongings. Now it is much too quiet at our house.

Lots of activity and talk over the days and catching up with how they've grown since we were last together. Our almost 7-year-old left us with a comment that I've been pondering. In talking about how we would miss each other when they left, and how we all live so far apart, he commented that he thought that grandparents were supposed to live far away.

Sad that he thinks that. Sad to wonder why he thinks that.
